Customer Service, Winning and Losing Lessons Learned

The best lessons are learned and future direction given by observing those things that are understood and obvious to most.

Watching the Denver Nuggets during the play offs it occurred to me that you cannot get the 3 point shot unless you shoot from beyond 23 feet 9 inches (a bit less if you are shooting from the corners).  Take that thought to baseball, you must step up to the plate to hit the ball and as my son would say you have to sink your line if you are going to catch a fish.

Before the shot is taken, the bat swung, or the fish netted there is work to be done to have the desired result.  The result is not achieved via a single method; it requires proper training, practice, appropriate tools, practice and tenacity (did I say practice?).  Eliminate any one method and the outcome falls short of the potential.  Learning to balance and pay attention to all the details is the best guarantor of success.  While a desired outcome involves others, the preparation must consider the effort of the individual.  Something like, you cannot have a forest without the trees!

Just like sinking that 3 point shot you need to take a step back, to make the rebound you must step forward and into the paint.  Or step out of the batter’s box to keep from getting hit by a wild pitch.  Fishing, well be careful where you cast.

At DriveDenver Car Service, the owner, Peter Scifo has provided over 12,000 rides and listened to and had conversations with over 25,000 riders.  He has learned a thing or two about the transportation industry by listening to the people who use a concierge or private car service.  Safety first.  Followed by a professional driver, clean and late model (or new) car and on time.  Coming in last was cost.  The cost for a private car service was explained to me earlier this week.  Consider the cost of driving yourself:  gas, parking, preparation, time, risk and energy!  A private car service costs approximately 20% more (does not include the cost of owning a car) than doing it all yourself.  And that is the true cost of a private car service. If you ‘think’ you would never use a private car service, think again and give it a try.  As a side note, it costs on average over $12,000 a year to own a car.

Using a private car service may not be for everyone, but DriveDenver Car Service is a transportation service for everyone. There will always be those who are hesitant and will never explore the option, but DriveDenver will always step into the paint when necessary. Take the long shot from a position that guarantees the best opportunity and be at the plate when our customers need us.  And oh yes, we have dropped our line in the water and the fish are biting!
